Randolph County Teacher Arrested for Multiple Sex Crimes Involving Students at Uwharrie Ridge School

Randolph County, NC – A Randolph County teacher has been arrested and charged with multiple sex-related offenses involving students at the school where he taught, according to local authorities.

 

William Edward Villano, 30, who was employed at Uwharrie Ridge Six-Twelve School at the time of the alleged incidents, faces two counts of indecent liberties with a student and two counts of engaging in sex acts with a student.

 

The Invictus Task Force launched an investigation into Villano in November 2024 following a report of suspected child exploitation. Officials say both victims were juveniles enrolled at Uwharrie Ridge.

 

 

Timeline of Alleged Offenses

 

 

  • August 1, 2024 – First indecent liberties charge involving one student.
  • October 22, 2024 – Second indecent liberties charge involving a different student.

 

 

Authorities confirmed that the incidents occurred while Villano was teaching at the school.

 

The Randolph County School District has not yet released an official statement regarding the arrest.

 

 

Legal Proceedings and Bond

 

 

Villano is currently being held in the Randolph County Jail with bond set at $45,000. His first court appearance is scheduled for August 18, 2025.
