Two Arrested in $80,000 Aluminum Theft from Dupont Facility in Salisbury

LARCENY INVESTIGATION UPDATE – ARRESTS MADE 

Over Memorial Day weekend 2025, multiple larcenies occurred at the Dupont Manufacturing Facility in Salisbury, NC. The suspects stole approximately $80,000 worth of aluminum and were seen driving a black Chevrolet pickup pulling a single axle trailer. The vehicle featured an aftermarket bed cover, chrome step rails, and several stickers on the rear windows (driver and passenger sides).

UPDATE:
Detectives with the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office have identified and apprehended two suspects in this case.

The vehicle was located in Lexington, NC, and was registered to Michael L. Norris of Lexington. A search warrant was executed at Norris’s residence on June 10, 2025, leading to evidence that identified a second suspect, Terry Vanzant, also of Lexington. Investigators also located evidence that the stolen material been cut up and destroyed.

Michael L. Norris was taken into custody and given a $20,000 secured bond.

Terry Vanzant was also taken into custody and given a $25,000 secured bond.
