
SALISBURY, N.C. — A man was found dead from a gunshot wound early Wednesday morning, July 30, in Salisbury. Police identified the victim as 32-year-old Willie Johnson Jr.
Officers responded around 7:25 a.m. to the intersection of Long and Liberty Street after reports of an unresponsive man in the roadway. Investigators believe Johnson was shot at a home on Park Avenue, about a mile away, before his body was discovered.
Police say there is no known threat to the community at this time.
