Traffic Stop Leads to $2.5M Bond, Seizure of Guns and Drugs

On September 20, 2025, Officer J Brown attempted to stop a vehicle due to a tint violation, but the driver refused to stop. A short vehicle pursuit occurred, ending at the dead end of West Colonial Drive. The driver, who has been identified as Marquise Robinson, was taken into custody.

 

During the pursuit, Mr. Robinson threw several objects out the driver's side window. The items were located and have been identified as:

 

-Two stolen firearms
-40 grams of Marijuana
-23 grams of Crack Cocaine
-55 grams of Fentanyl

 

Mr. Robinson was charged with:

 

-Illegal vehicle tint
-Resist, Obstruct, and delay
-Felony Flee to Elude
-Driving while license revoked
-Possession of a firearm by a convicted Felon
-Possession of a stolen firearm
-Possession with intent to sell and delivery (2 counts)
-Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
-Felony Maintaining a vehicle to keep a controlled substance
-Trafficking in Schedule II

 

Mr. Robinson was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $2,500,000.00 bond.
