Cleveland Traffic Stop Leads to Felony Marijuana Charge, Police Say

CLEVELAND, N.C. — A Cleveland police officer arrested a man Tuesday after a traffic stop led to the discovery of marijuana inside his vehicle, authorities said.

Harley Ray Watson was stopped around 8:18 p.m. on December 2 for an expired registration, according to the Cleveland Police Department. The officer reported detecting the odor of marijuana while speaking with Watson. A search of the vehicle led to the seizure of about 43 grams of marijuana.

Watson was taken to the magistrate’s office for processing. He was then booked into the Rowan County Detention Center under a secured bond of 2,500 dollars.
