Shooting Investigation – West Innes St.

 

 

Salisbury Police and the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a shooting in the 2600 block of W. Innes St. First responders confirmed the victim left the scene before officers arrived, but evidence on scene indicates someone was shot. West Innes St. is currently closed to traffic. Avoid the area and expect delays.

Rowan County Sheriff's Office Investigates Shooting Between Family Members

ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. (July 16, 2025) – The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred on US Highway 601 just outside of Salisbury City Limits.

On July 15, 2025, at approximately 8:30 pm, deputies with the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported shooting on US Highway 601 near Sells Road. Initial reports suggested the shooting stemmed from a road rage incident; however, it was soon discovered that the two involved parties were related.

Deputies found both parties at the scene, one suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. That person was taken to Baptist Hospital for treatment and remains in critical care. The other person involved was not harmed and is cooperating with investigators.

At this point in the investigation, the only damage found was to the two vehicles involved.

Investigators cleared the scene just before 3 AM, and US 601 highway is now open.

The incident remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office or crime stoppers.
