Rowan County Man Charged With First-Degree Sexual Offense, Held on $1 Million Bond

A Rowan County man faces multiple felony charges and is being held on a $1 million bond following an investigation into the sexual abuse of a child, according to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office.


Investigators said they received a report on Nov. 8, 2025, alleging ongoing sexual abuse involving an 8-year-old child. The child was taken to Novant Health Rowan Medical Center for evaluation.


Detectives identified the suspect as Noah Gabriel Vanhoy, 21, of Cleveland. Authorities said Vanhoy was known to the child and is accused of abusing the victim on multiple occasions. The investigation began after the child disclosed the abuse to a parent.


Vanhoy was arrested Dec. 22, 2025, and charged with first-degree sexual offense and taking indecent liberties with a minor. He is being held in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $1 million secured bond.


The investigation remains ongoing.
