Rowan County Woman Charged With Felony Sex Offenses Involving 1-Year-Old Child

ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — A Rowan County woman faces multiple felony charges after authorities issued a warrant accusing her of sexual offenses involving a minor, according to court records.

A warrant for arrest lists the defendant as Veronica Rose Yerry, 33, of China Grove. The warrant shows the case filed in Rowan County District Court on Feb. 9, 2026. Yerry is currently being held in the Rowan County Detention Center on a $10,000,000 secured bond.

Court documents list six charges:

• Felony child abuse involving a sexual act

• First-degree statutory sex offense

• First-degree sexual exploitation of a minor

• Second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor

• Crime against nature

• Simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance

Charging language states the allegations involve sexual acts and exploitative material involving a child age 1. The warrant also alleges exploitative material was recorded, developed for gain, and distributed. Records state the defendant held a parental role at the time of the alleged offenses.

The case moved through the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, with a district court date set for April 7, 2026.
