Salisbury Woman Charged in Domestic Assault Involving Firearm

SALISBURY, N.C. — A Salisbury woman has been charged following a reported domestic assault involving a firearm, according to a warrant issued by Salisbury police.
Julie Clawson, 57, faces charges of misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor crime of domestic violence. The warrant was issued Jan. 24.
The warrant alleges Clawson pushed her father, causing him to fall, and then struck him on the right side of the head with a Smith and Wesson .380 pistol during an incident in Rowan County. The warrant states the two were cohabitating at the time.
