FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. — A Belews Creek man has been charged with statutory rape following a multi-year investigation by the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators began the case on May 24, 2023, after a juvenile reported to a family member that they had been sexually assaulted by a family acquaintance. The incident was reported to have occurred in the 6100 block of Vance Road in Kernersville.

The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office Investigative Services Division identified a suspect and conducted an extensive investigation. Authorities arrested Jason William Hutchens, 45, on April 16, 2026.

Hutchens is charged with one count of felony statutory rape of a child under the age of 15. He is being held at the Forsyth County Law Enforcement Detention Center without bond.

He is scheduled to appear in court on April 17, 2026, at the Forsyth County Courthouse.

“No adult should ever take advantage of the innocence of a child,” said Major Lane Koontz. “We are proud of the diligence of our investigators and their unwavering dedication to bring this person to justice.”
