Four Arrested in 2023 Clemmons Homicide of 16-Year-Old

CLEMMONS, N.C. — The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office has arrested four men in connection with the 2023 fatal shooting of a 16-year-old in Clemmons.


Deputies responded Feb. 8, 2023, to reports of gunshots in the 100 block of Western Villa Drive. They found Jhamari Hall, 16, of Winston-Salem, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.


After what investigators described as an extensive and complex investigation spanning several years, authorities announced multiple arrests this week.


Jah Jermaine Carolina, 24, of Thomasville, is charged with one count of first-degree murder and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Officials said Carolina was apprehended in Louisiana and is awaiting extradition to Forsyth County from the Iberville Parish Jail.


Wesley Denard King Jr., 22, of Greensboro, is charged with one count of first-degree murder. He is being held without bond at the Forsyth County Law Enforcement Detention Center.


Tare Loquan Walker, 35, of Winston-Salem, also faces one count of first-degree murder. Walker was already in custody on unrelated charges and is being held without bond.


Curtis Lenard Smith, 30, of Winston-Salem, is charged with one count of first-degree murder. Smith was also in custody on unrelated charges and remains held without bond.


Sheriff Bobby F. Kimbrough Jr. said in a statement, “There is no escape for the unjust. Justice is inescapable.”
