Winston-Salem Police Charge Man With Murder After Fatal Quantum Court Shooting

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A man died after a Friday morning shooting on Quantum Court and another man now faces a murder charge, according to Winston-Salem police.
Officers responded around 11:50 a.m. to a reported shooting at 2376 Quantum Court. When officers arrived, they found Derek Devol Brandon II, 27, with gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical crews took Brandon to a local hospital. He later died despite lifesaving efforts.

Investigators arrested Je’Juan Khyre Watson, 25, in connection with the shooting. Police charged Watson with murder.
Watson appeared before a magistrate and remains held without bond at the Forsyth County Detention Center.
