CONCORD, N.C. — The Concord Police Department renewed a public appeal for information this week as the 20th anniversary of Pamela Callahan’s disappearance passed.
Police said Callahan disappeared on March 4, 2006, after she failed to meet family members as planned. Relatives reported her missing when she did not arrive.
Two days later, Callahan’s apartment caught fire. Investigators ruled the blaze an arson and said evidence indicates the fire was intentionally set in an attempt to destroy evidence.
Callahan was described as a beloved daughter and aunt. At the time of her disappearance she was 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighed about 160 pounds. She would now be 63 years old.
Despite two decades passing, investigators said the case remains active and the department continues to pursue leads.
On the anniversary of her disappearance, Concord police said they are sharing Callahan’s story again in hopes someone remembers information that assists the investigation.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the Concord Police Department at 704-920-5000. Anonymous tips also reach Cabarrus Area Crime Stoppers at 704-93-CRIME.
