Liberty Man Charged With Multiple Child Sex Offenses

RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — A Liberty man faces multiple felony charges involving alleged sexual offenses with a juvenile, according to court documents filed in Randolph County.

Jordan Lee Forbes, 27, of Snow Camp, was charged March 6 following an investigation by the Liberty Police Department.

According to a magistrate’s order, Forbes is charged with three counts of statutory rape of a child age 15 or younger, five counts of statutory sex offense with a child age 15 or younger, and one count of indecent liberties with a child.

Court records state the charges involve a juvenile who was age 15 or younger at the time of the alleged incidents. Charging documents allege Forbes engaged in vaginal intercourse and other sexual acts with the juvenile. The documents state the defendant was at least 12 years old and at least six years older than the juvenile and was not lawfully married to the victim.

The indecent liberties charge alleges Forbes took or attempted to take immoral or indecent liberties with the juvenile for the purpose of sexual arousal or gratification. Court records state the defendant was over 16 years old and at least five years older than the child.

The charges were issued March 6 in Randolph County District Court. Forbes is scheduled to appear in court March 9 at the Randolph County Courthouse.

The case was investigated by the Liberty Police Department.
