
Teen arrested after shooting into occupied vehicle at Concord business

Concord police arrested a 17-year-old Kannapolis resident Monday after a shooting in the parking lot of Danny’s Place on Church Street North. No one was injured.
Officers said Jamere Rhashedt Wright stepped outside the business around 12:42 p.m. and fired toward a vehicle that had pulled into the lot. The vehicle had one occupant. Investigators said the shooting was not random.
Wright ran from the scene. Officers caught him after a brief foot chase.
Police said Wright is being charged as an adult. He is charged with discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle that is in operation.
The incident happened at Danny’s Place, a convenience store and eatery at 300 Church St. N. Police described the shooting as isolated.
