A high-speed chase from Cabarrus County ended in Rowan County when a Dodge Challenger crashed after exiting I-85 at Innes Street.

A warrant shows an 18-year-old Rowan County resident is facing several misdemeanor charges after deputies reported threats and an assault during an arrest on December 10. According to the magistrate’s order, Lukus Taylor Harrington is charged with resisting a public officer, three counts of communicating threats, and assault on a government official. Deputies said Harrington refused to comply with commands during a disturbance investigation, which led to the resisting charge.

Heavy law enforcement gathered at the entrance to Carson High School after an individual ran from police into a wooded area nearby. Officers initially requested a lockdown, but the person was quickly detained and the request was cancelled.
